Within a decade, designer Serge Mouille shaped the modern lighting industry with his iconic insect-inspired arm ceiling lamps and later, with his incandescent and fluorescent light columns. An artist first and an industry innovator second, Mouille was inspired by the human form and skeletal shapes when creating his world-famous Spider lamps. In keeping with Mouille’s handcrafted ethos, the factory is still in operation today where each Mouille light fixture is produced in France using his original forms.
Purchasing a Mouille light is more akin to buying an original piece of art: each piece is stamped and numbered and only 600 pieces are produced each year and distributed around the world.
