Details
Ilimari Tapiovaara was committed to designing furniture for a much broader market. His goal was to produce quality inexpensive furniture that was made from materials that were readily available in 1940's Finland; one result is the Domus Chair. The chair was given clean simple lines that spoke to style and functionality. The Domus Chair is a multipurpose chair that is perfect as a standalone chair, in a grouping or around a dinner table. The frame is made of laminated oak and the seat and back take their form from pressed oak plywood. The chair frame is finished with a clear lacquer and the seat and/or back is upholstered. The Domus Chair is stackable up to three high. Priced in Kvadrat Remix fabric ( 90% wool, 10% polyamide) or Sorensen Prestige leather on both the backrest and the seat. Other fabrics and configurations available, please call.

Brand
Artek
One of four founders of the Artek brand, Alvar Aalto’s pieces embrace the brand’s dedication to blending art and technology for the sake of promoting “a modern culture of living.” His furniture, like his buildings, strike a balance, exist in harmony with their surroundings, and possess only ver carefully considered details.
A leader of the modernist movement, Alvar teamed up with his wife Aino to inject a uniquely architectural perspective into lighting, textiles, and furniture, creating his first piece in 1932. Alvar’s legacy lies in the pieces he designed that continue to be reproduced for the benefit and admiration of current and future generations.
