Disderot

The Disderot story starts with Pierre Disderot and his legacy as the founder of the modern light. After opening his studio in 1948, he quickly started creative alliances with many of the 20th Century’s most beloved and iconic designers. The goal: create innovative lighting that embraces both artistic aesthetics and functionality. This vision was embodied with the fostering of Disderot’s partnership with Olivier Mourgues. From Olivier Mourgues’s mind and eclectic design background came a series of flower lights.

Mastering aluminum and combining sturdy, industrial aesthetics with delicate handywork, these lights set Disderot and Mourgues apart from the rest of the modern design world – making them luminaries of contemporary light.
