Anti-Gravity
Working with forty-one designers means there is a flush of ideas to pull from and expansive ideas to play with. The eclectic Moooi collection contains a number of items that draw the eye and transport viewers and users to another place, time, or plain. Using a wide variety of materials – and not discounting anything that has been used before – the Moooi design partners have created breathtaking pieces like the Gravity Chandelier and Flock of Light Pendant.
Gravity Chandelier
Designer Paul Cocksedge challenges our idea of the traditional chandelier with a series of flexible arms that seem to float towards the ceiling in a dramatic flourish of light and wire. Simultaneously seemingly defying and utilizing gravity, the Gravity Chandelier is installation art as much as a lighting feature.
Flock of Light Pendant
Emulating the graceful and sometimes erratic movement of birds as they fly and flock together in the sky, the Studio Toer designers take us on a visual journey. Twisted and wound in a jumble of thin lines, the Flock of Light Pendant emanates a delicate and warm light through small diffusers placed throughout its cloud of bronze wire.
Eclectic Futures
A little pop-culture, a little sophistication, and a lot of playful heart, Moooi’s main passion is in defining the personality of a space through electric designs that bend the rules in all of the best ways. Furnishing the whole home with art, furniture, and lighting, Moooi holds nothing back as they launch design into a new and refreshing space of creative exploration and extraordinary living.
