Felicia Ferrone designs her glassware with the hope that each piece will come together in your kitchen and on your dining room table as the fresh, clean foundation of the ideal home. Based in Chicago, Ferrone took her degree in architecture to Milan, Italy where she learned “how to see and be inspired” while studying under, and designing alongside, masters of the industry – simultaneously developing her first series, the Revolution Collection, and establishing her belief that all aspects of design are fundamentally intertwined. Maison Playing with the relationship between positive and negative space, the Maison Bowls and Maison tray use architectural concepts to draw the eye and create a unique, modern decorative piece. Featuring a smooth, metal surface and rim, the Maison collection uses brief breaks in the pattern to draw the eye and add a sense of lightness amongst the stalwart, industrial aesthetics. Use the Maison Bowls and Maison Tray as table centerpieces or as home décor. Architecture Blurring the boundaries between architecture concepts and other design disciplines, Ferrone branched out on her own to start her design studio, fferrone, and continue her pursuit of refined and functional “tablescapes.” Flight Inspired by the stacked petal façade of the twin Marina City buildings in Chicago, the Flight Collection pays homage to Bertand Goldberg’s iconic buildings with their graceful shape and elegant, modern character. Master glassblowers create the four types of drinking glasses and the signature carafe that make up fferrone’s Flight Collection. Every glass is wrapped in soaring, ridged indentations reaching from the bottom third of each glass up to the rim. This unique decorative embellishment refracts light and reflects the movement of the liquid inside, finding a balance between inspired design and natural movement. Each glass is crafted from fluted Borosilicate glass making each piece thermal resistant and safe for ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers. Through collaboration with artisans and fabricators, fferrone has become world renowned for glassware collections like Dearborn, Bessho, and Margot that embrace unique shapes of artistic expression and finely handcrafted details that interweave beauty and functional dynamics.
