Asa Table Lamp from Santa + Cole

In the face of post-WWII material shortages, designer and bricoleur Miguel Milà created the uniquely simple Asa Table Lamp.

A single metal tube wraps and twists in elegant lines and gentle curves to form not only the interior structure, but the handle and frame as well. The simple composition—with just two materials besides the bulb—is an elevated continuous form.

The Asa Table Lamp’s translucent, cylindrical shade is crafted from methacrylate and is finished a way that creates a frosted glass effect. The sleek and silky form of the shade evokes a sense of healing and calm as it emits a gentle glow, and neatly complements the metal handle.

Discretely embracing a touch of an industrial aesthetic, the Asa Table Lamp is easily recognized by the flow of its modern silhouette. Additionally, the practicality of its size makes it the perfect lamp for quiet corners, bookshelves, and bedside tables.
