Tina Frey began her designer and studio owner journey when she was a child. Immersed in the world through her deep understanding and appreciation for color, shape, form, and details that typically slipped past the casual observer, Frey found her creative footing early.
However, like many, she also found herself in an unrelated field—finance. And, like others, the creative spirit inside her continued to call her to the world of design, finally succeeding and blossoming into the Tina Frey Design studio now nestled in the San Francisco, California landscape.
Though her childhood is behind her, Frey continues to rely on the childlike wonderment and fascination with the world around her to conceive and produce hand-made home décor with a soothing, organic, honest, and domestic aesthetic.
A Connection to the Maker
Working with a collective of craftsmen, Tina Frey and her design team hew each piece from her original sculpted designs which are then transferred into a mold that can cast items in small batches. Each step of the way, the piece is handled with human hands; sanded, painted, finished, and inspected without heavy machinery.
This return to the connection between object and maker gives the Tina Frey collection its unmistakable bespoke feel and look, allowing each object to stand out among the others and bring a welcoming warmth in both domestic and commercial spaces.
