Details
BUOY is a meditation on navigational forms, expressed through three essential geometries. Dynamic pairings of cones, domes, and slabs form the basis for a serial exploration of the interplay of light and material across a range of scales and typologies. Hand-blown glass shades, in contrasting white enamel and sandblasted finishes, are set apart and bound together by a custom metal collar. Recalling references of Alvar Aalto and Peter Behrens, each fixture is tied to the historic typology of objects afloat both on the wall and in the water. Taken as a whole, the BUOY Collection presents a modernist’s reflection on glass as an essential vessel for light. SPAR SCONCE mirrors diffused beams of light in hand-blown contrasting white enamel and sandblasted glass shades. Bound together by a custom metal collar, this luminous waypoint casts a buoyant glow against the wall. UL/cUL/CE Listed. Wet Rated.

If you’ve ever set foot in a high-end modern hotel known for its decor (think Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn or the Rivertown Lodge in Hudson) then the light fixture that you’re lusting after is most likely a Workstead fixture. The Workstead studio is based in New York where they design functional but iconic ceiling lights, pendants and sconces that are beautiful options for your home’s lighting needs.
Many Workstead light fixtures can be hung in multiple ways: a flush mount light that doubles as a sconce or a chandelier that could have a modern impact in a high-end lobby or by your own front door.
