The Lungangolo Shelf by Karakter brings Achille Castiglioni’s eye for overlooked space into a tall, architectural shelving unit made specifically for corners. Designed in 1991, the piece transforms a narrow vertical footprint into useful storage with square shelves positioned at varied heights, giving the design a rhythm that feels both functional and sculptural. Its slim proportions make it especially useful in living rooms, bedrooms, offices, entries, and compact interiors where every inch matters. Castiglioni was known for reconsidering ordinary objects and reworking them until only the essential remained. Lungangolo reflects that approach through a frame of four slender pillars, square cross-sections, a drawer, and a side element that strengthen the structure while giving the piece its distinctive asymmetry. The design was produced in both left- and right-handed versions so it could adapt to different corners and spatial conditions. Made from solid and veneered oak, the Lungangolo Shelf is available in directional configurations and wood finishes that allow it to sit quietly in a room or create a stronger graphic presence. The White Stained Oak finish softens the structure visually while preserving the character of the wood, making it a refined storage solution for modern residential and hospitality interiors.
