Design House Stockholm Step Stepladder

The Design House Stockholm Step Stepladder transforms an everyday household essential into a sculptural piece for the modern home. Designed by Karl Malmvall, its clean, graphic profile brings Scandinavian character to practical moments—whether reaching a high shelf, changing a light bulb, or hanging artwork—while remaining beautiful enough to keep in view rather than tucked away.

Crafted from lacquered solid oak, Step combines a reassuringly substantial feel with a thoughtfully compact, foldable form. The broad platform provides a comfortable place to stand, while the included wall-mounting hook makes it easy to store the ladder as a considered decorative element when not in use. Available in a range of wood and painted finishes, it adds warmth or contrast to kitchens, libraries, studios, and utility spaces.

Design House Stockholm approaches functional objects as part of the architecture of everyday life, and Step captures that idea with unusual clarity. It is practical when needed, visually distinctive when displayed, and refined enough to complement contemporary interiors. A smart expression of Scandinavian utility, the Step Stepladder turns an often-overlooked household tool into a lasting piece of design.
