Spotlight on : Pletz Lighting

Absorbing cultural and artistic inspirations from around the world...

Pletz and their studio of designers create room-defining light for sophisticated spaces. The iconic Pletz collection draws on the influence from Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi as well as the expansive artistic impact of Isamu Noguchi, epitomizing what contemporary lighting should be. More importantly, the Brooklyn-based design studio strives for a higher purpose, combining design, material, bespoke hand finishes, and environmentally conscious practices to light the way for modern illumination.

Materials Matter
When husband-and-wife duo Aaron and Heather Shoon started Pletz they knew the world was ready for a more authentic lighting experience. And one of the ways they deliver is through the careful selection of materials that matter. Every piece of hardwood used, from the lathe-turned rounded base of the Bethel Table Lamp to the two-toned tower of the Tusten 1, is FSC-certified and finished in organic shellacs, oils, or beeswax.

Topping each lamp is the linen shade for the perfect diffusion of light, while exquisite details that add balance and make the Pletz light a seductive art piece are hand-applied.

Additional attention is paid to the globe of the Eres Gold pendant that features a handblown shade in an illustrious gold hue, while the stacked linen shades of the Nomen pendant add charm to clean lines. Each aspect of the Pletz collection serves a purpose and holds the attention while ensuring enduring luxury.

Styling with Pletz
The timeless beauty of traditional craftsmanship paired with modern abstract design principles and studied atmospheric aesthetics brings the Pletz lights to life. Pletz then becomes more than just lighting, and instead takes its place as a stimulating experience in the home.

The refined and familiar feel of the Pletz collection allows each lamp to be effortlessly paired together in a composition that suits any room and lifestyle. Play with shape by using a combination of Marty and Bethel Table Lamps through a room, or introduce a variety of complimenting wood finishes by mixing and matching Delhi Table Lamps. Or experiment with two toned finishes by using the Altmar Floor lamp with a selection of Tusten Table Lamps.

No matter the lighting needs of a room or preferences of the user, the expressive and sculpturally inspired collection of Pletz lighting solutions enchant and invigorate any modern space, championing illumination once and for all.
