Offset, Resident, and Philippe Malouin
Occasionally, a designer comes along who forces us to rethink the typical. Everyday items are lifted, their elements played with and moved, slightly offset, and we are all better for it. Philippe Malouin, working with the design studio Resident, is one such designer. His work, the support of Resident, and the appearance of the Offset collection on the design market have set a tone for modern furniture and helped spark an enthusiasm for well-crafted and exquisitely designed homes.
Philippe Malouin
Philippe Malouin designs a little bit of everything. From tables to offices, to lights and rugs, Malouin’s degree in design from the Design Academy Eindhoven is put to the test to create truly unique pieces that strike a balance between art and everyday function.
Philippe studied and worked with English designer Tom Dixon before opening his own studio in 2008, and has collaborated extensively with brands like Matter-Made, Nike, SCP, Marsotto Edizioni, and Resident.
It was his work for Resident that resulted in the acclaimed Offset collection of tables and a charming little stool. Philippe Malouin is the recipient of the designer of the year award from Wallpaper Magazine, he founded the design practice, POST-OFFICE, and lives in London where he continues to operate his design studio.
