Designer Sir Kenneth Grange is a true renaissance design man. Hailed as one of the most well-respected and revered British designers, he’s received accolades such as the twice winner of the Prince Philip Designers Prize, Gold Medalist of the Chartered Society of Designers, and holds six Honorary Doctorates including at the Royal College of Art (to name a few). He first got his start as a drafting assistant for architect Jack Howe and quickly made a name for himself by co-founding Pentagram, an interdisciplinary design consultancy in the UK. He’s put his artistic touch to everyday items like Kenmore blenders and Kodak cameras to bus shelters and the regional Royal Mail postbox in Britain. Though some designers might balk at working on seemingly pedestrian products, Grange pioneered user-centric design and has brought his modern aesthetic to the masses. He is currently Design Director of Anglepoise where he continues to create practical yet stunning designs including his bestselling Type 3™ desk lamp.
