I love products that you think you know from somewhere but aren’t sure where from. In designing this lamp for Wästberg, my main goal was to design an archetypical lamp inspired by its original predecessors - the oil lamp or the kerosene lamp or even candle sticks - together with shades that used to sit on lamps I grew up with - lamps with an incandescent light bulb and a conical lampshade.

In other words, I wanted to design a very simple light fixture, designed to direct the light downwards but that also helps to create an ambiance in a room. This is where I started.

However, I also wanted the lamp to offer something more. A specific feature making it stand out ever so slightly from the crowd.
