The Vase d'Avril is made up of twenty-one glass tubes and twenty metal fixtures which interlock. When the components are assembled, you can arrange them into various shapes and forms. From this starting point, you are able to rearrange the vase into numerous positions. As a contrast in forms, after removing one of the tubes from the chain, the two tail-ends can be joined to create a ring. The tubes may be independently detached from the suite in order to create autonomous segments. In this fashion, the vase can be shortened; or, by easily attaching two or more vases together, any extended length can be achieved. To transport the vase from sink to mantlepiece, and/or to arrange your bouquet, it is best to firmly bundle the vase wholly assembled with both hands.

The Vase d'Avril is made of glass and steel coated with zinc. After using it in water, the metal gets oxidized: a "white rust" veil appears. Length: 29.15" Height: 5.90" - Zinc coated metal frame, 21 blown glass tube.
